Dal Tarka

Ingredients:
1.  1 big onion chopped
2. 1 big Tomato cut into very small pieces
3. 2.-3 green chilies Sliced according to taste
4. 2 tbsp of BNB refined Sesame oil
5. 3 types of Dal/Pulses (2 tbsp of masoor dal, moong daal and Arhar daal soaked for half an hour and cooked with a pinch of salt and turmeric in a pressure cooker)
6. 1 tbsp of  chopped Garlic and Ginger 
7. 1 tsp of cumin seeds
8. 1-2 pieces of whole dried Red chili
9. Chopped coriander leaves for Garnishing
10. 1-2 tsp of Butter 
11. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
12. 1 tsp coriander powder
13. 1 tsp cumin powder
14. Salt in accordance with the taste

Method:
1.Heat pan and pour BNB Refined Sesame oil 
2. As the oil got hot add whole dried red chilies and cumin seeds and saute it for a minute
3.  Add minced ginger-garlic, green chilies and toss it for few seconds
4. As soon as the garlic becomes fragrant put chopped tomatoes and onion in the pan
5. Add a little amount of water to avoid the mixture from burning
6. As soon as the mixture starts releasing oil add all the dry spices along with salt and mix it well for a few more seconds
7. Add the previously boiled dal and mix it into the pan
8. Check the consistency of dal as it should not be too thick or too runny
9. Cook it for few more seconds till it starts boiling
10. Garnish it with some fresh coriander leaves and a little butter on top for the richer taste
11. Serve it hot with your favorite meal
