Sesamelicious Noodles With Tofu

Ingredients :
2 cups boiled Hakka noodles
1 cup firm tofu (bean curd/ soya paneer) cubes
2 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1 cup carrot juliennes
1 cup spring onion whites
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
1 tbsp sugar
salt to taste

For the Marinade
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp red chilli flakes (paprika)
salt to taste

For garnish
2 tbsp spring onion whites

Method :
1. Combine the tofu cubes with the marinade in a deep bowl, mix gently and keep it aside for about an hour
2. Heat 1 tbsp of sesame oil in a thick bottomed non-stick pan and saute the marinated tofu for 2-3 mins and keep it aside
3. Pour the remaining 1 tbsp of oil in a thick bottomed pan and saute the sesame seeds for a few seconds till it becomes little aromatic
4. Add the veggies, the carrot and the spring onion whited in the oil and saute in a medium flame for about 2 mins
5. Add the boiled noodles, soy sauce, salt and sugar in the pan and mix it well for 2 mins and stir it occasionally
6. Add the marinated and cooked tofu in the pan and mix it gently while stirring occasionally for about 1 minute
7. Garnish it with spring onion greens and serve it immediately
