STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

As per FSSAI rules applicable in India the shelf life of all edible oils is only 9 months. Please read the storage instructions on the product label. You will also find the production date on the product’s labelling.

After opening a container of BNB sesame oil it is advisable to use it within 9 months when left at room temperature, and up to 2 years when refrigerated as per FSSAI rules in India.

Prevent your BNB sesame oil from direct sunlight and store in a cool dry place away from heat. It’s best to store your oils in a cool, dry place. UV exposure will cause the greatest damage to the oil’s constituents, and combining heat exposure with light exposure will negatively affect your oils more quickly.

If your delivery package is sitting in the heat for several hours but the oils are not directly exposed to UV rays, the oils will not be compromised. If the oil is hot, cool it before using.

Sesame oil has a long shelf life and can be stored in its container, with the lid screwed on tight, in a cool, dark place. Light sesame oil is best stored at room temperature and will last for up to a year.

Toasted sesame has a slightly shorter shelf life but will still last for many months under ideal conditions. It can also be stored in the fridge, extending its life even longer. The oil will be slightly thicker when cold but still easily pourable. As per FSSAI rules applicable in India the shelf life of all edible oils is only 9 months. But this also depends upon the way and manner the oil is stored.

If BNB sesame oil is within this period of 9 months from date of manufacture then it should be safe for human consumption, provided it is kept in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Please do not use the oil in case of the following:

(a) If the oil is tasting acidic.
(b) If the container has an unusual odor.
(c) If the oil appears cloudy or moldy.
(d) Other reasons that you may perceive it to be non-edible now.
(e) Human life is more important than some money’s worth of expired oil, hence it best to dispose the expired oil and buy a new one.

The precise answer depends to a large extent on storage conditions - to maximize the shelf life of opened sesame oil, refrigerate after opening. Opened sesame oil will usually keep for about 12 months when stored in the refrigerator.

CONTAINER USE / DISPOSAL:

All BNB products are supplied in very high quality and re-usable PET containers. We suggest customers to re-use bottles after they are fully consumed. To remove the label, oil and stickiness from the bottles please soak the bottle in hot water with some detergent. After some time take the bottle out of the hot water and resin it. It should now be fit for re-use. In case you do not intend to re-use the bottles then we advise you to follow your local rules for garbage disposal.
